More on Steve Kubby
In additon to my earlier post about Steve Kubby, you can keep up with the growing awareness of this outrage through Technorati for blogosphere coverage and Google News for more established media coverage. I’m going to try to stay on top of it at this blog, of course, but I know for a fact the folks at Hammer of Truth definitely will, with this being their latest post about Steve Kubby currently.
For the most in-depth background information, please refer to the Kubby.com web site.
Please understand, this is a naked attempt to murder a man as political retribution, by means of witholding the medication (cannabis) that keeps his adrenal cancer in check.
The feds know that within just hours or a matter of days of incarceration, Steve’s heart will begin pounding wildly out of control driving his blood pressure up to its limits, then will come the insufferable headaches and throwing up before he dies a more torturous death than any of us could imagine.
Again, as I mentioned before:
Steve’s family and supporters have asked those who can’t make it to San Francisco to show their support for him personally to contact the Placer County California District Attorney and express disapproval of inhumane treatment for Steve and plead for his life.

Update: STEVE KUBBY SICK IN JAIL AFTER ARREST AT SF AIRPORT
Share This“I’m really sick already,” Kubby said from jail two hours afterwards, “I’m gonna start puking my brains out.” He says his guards laughed at him when he requested Marinol. Kubby says he hasn’t had marijuana for half a day and has begun to experience all of the symptoms of his life-threatening disease - nausea, headaches, swollen kidneys. He has chills and has not been able to get a blanket from the guards.”They don’t understand that they’re dealing with someone with cancer,” he says.

Thank you for calling my attention to this. I wish I’d known about this in time to participate in the airport effort.
There seems to be so much focus on national affairs, with pundit-bloggers trying to outdo each other with analysis of the major players. It’s easy to miss issues outside the beltway - issues that actually affect the way we live at the local level a lot more directly. The way this Kubby was treated sets precedents that have ramifications for anyone with dissenting beliefs. Apathy in this case will lead to torture and possibly murder. All bystanders will share in the responsibility for letting that happen.
