Excuse me, Mr. President ???

In his eagerness to cover his own ass from war crimes charges through legislative hanky-panky, George W. Bush has implied that explosives brought down the World Trade Center towers. Quote follows:

For example, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed described the design of plane attacks on building inside the U.S. and how operatives were directed to carry them out. That is valuable information for those of us who have the responsibility to protect the American people.

He told us the operatives had been instructed to ensure that the explosives went off at a point that was high enough to prevent people trapped above from escaping.

This does not seem like an inconsequential point.

  1. WTF?

    sketch-Y.

  2. Read it again. The quote published in the Guardian article and on the one published on the White House web page indicate that GWB was speaking of planned attacks using explosives, not 9/11. As a fan of dissident conspiracy theories, I found this most disappointing.

  3. It mentions “plane attacks”, but scenarios involving the use of explosives to destroy a building typically would require manually planting them — assuming the planes in question were civilian craft and not miltary bombers, that is.

Looks like Bush had a slip of the tongue of the sort typical of someone who’s telling so many lies that he can’t keep his story straight.
