Heinlein and Revolution

Granted, Courtney Brown has interests that can be alternately described as either colorful or wacky. The fact remains, though, that the man is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Emory University.
When I found out that one of the classes he teaches is “Science Fiction and Politics“, I was intrigued.
When I found out that no less than three of the audio lectures available for download for that class are an examination of Heinlein’s The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress in the context of how (politically) to go about organizing a revolution, I knew I had to listen.
Get it:
- Class #21: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A Heinlein (Part 1)
- Class #22: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A Heinlein (Part 2)
- Class #23: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A Heinlein (Part 3)

[…] All this of course an over long preamble to the following Brad Spengler link to a series of three online MP3 lectures (each about an hour long) from a colllege course on Sci Fi and Politics dealing with “The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress“. […]
These lectures are incredibly enjoyable and interesting (and they dovetail with my reading of New Libertarian Manifesto). I need to read more Heinlein. And I find it awesome and fascinating, BTW, that he’s doing serious research in remote viewing and parapsychology.
