First day of my latest attempt to quit smoking today. Feeling emotionally intense yet intellectually incapable of much. I have the attention span of a hummingbird. I’m craving cayenne pepper and bourbon.

Good luck with that, I’ve been on the patch 3 times, tried zyban once (got nice and stoned, but still smoked), and went cold turkey more times than I have fingers and toes - but it always gives me hope when someone does kick it.
I’m rooting for you, Brad. I quit 20 years ago, when I became pregnant with my son, but stupidly started again later. I’ve quit several times since then, for months at a time, but always started smoking again (and have a plethora of excuses for doing so). Yeah, I know, I’m an idiot.
Let us know how it’s going, and what if anything seems to help you in your quest.
Quiting smoking takes balls. Do you have them? I’m guessing you do. I hope you succeed.
