When all else fails, blame the supporters
Amidst the wailing and gnashing of teeth over at LewRockwell.com in the aftermath of Ron Paul’s disappointing ballot results in New Hampshire, Jim Ostrowski takes time out to blame the grassroots supporters — merely because a handful of them chased Hannity through the streets like the dog that he is.
Frankly, I love them for that, among other reasons.
Alternative explanations might include attempting to gauge just how irrational doubting evolution makes a candidate look. Just because you have an equal right to your religious faith, it doesn’t follow that your beliefs are equally rational or credible in comparison to science. Sorry, folks, but this isn’t even a libertarian ideology issue. It’s just basic politics to try not to look like a fool.
Perhaps more importantly, though, the Paul campaign could try to deal honestly with the matters being raised by Kn@ppster and Wendy McElroy. Would that really be so much more painful than putting an undeserved smackdown on your own beloved grassroots supporters?
Oh, and what was that Walter Block was saying about kicking people in the crotch when they’re down?

Yes, when they finally do something pro-active, they get slaughtered for it by their own movement. Great. Thank you Rockwell.
