We can’t stop here! This is bat country!

We’re in for one wild ride. See here:

Boom Without End: What The Web Knows…..

Which brings to mind a question:

Would there be interest in taking up a collection to fund a Mandarin translation of New Libertarian Manifesto?

  1. I’d be down for at least a few dollars.

But I’d advise some serious editing and contextual overhaul. No one in china cares about the LP.

  2. Excellent point. Perhaps a totally different tome with less emphasis on movement history and perhaps integrating some of the material from Agorist Class Theory and some of the insights on the revolutionary redistribution of property that have arisen from taking a closer look at Rothbardian property theory. It also probably ought to cover a lot more of the basics.

  3. It’s been a while since I last read the NLM, but the only major references to the LP that I remember were in the footnotes. I’d be down for at least fifty bucks if you think a significant rewrite is needed. China’s going to be a major focal point in the coming world events, and it’d be nice for Agorism to have a place over there. Who knows, maybe it’ll speak to some people.

On a related note, I wonder if Rod Long’s terrific essay presenting the links between libertarianism and Confucianism has ever been translated into Mandarin. It might be good, from a marketing perspective, to package these materials together. As long as we’re trying to downplay those aspects that limit market anarchism to an American audience, it makes sense to link it to things that are uniquely Chinese.
